The Second World War, which spanned the entire globe, was drawing to a close, yet the decline of the British Empire was only just beginning. The United States and the Soviet Union envisioned a glorious future, realizing that the fallen aristocracy was no longer an obstacle to their aspirations

I do not agree with their ideas, but dismantling British India is not entirely a bad thing
